People here will deny it but the truth is every European since the 70's sometime in their life wanted to be American. When I was young America was the country where every cartoon and best toys was made. It was there where great films were created like Beverly Hills Cop and Home Alone. Also traditions like Halloween and Valentine's Day. In my teen years it was because of the awesome movies/series about high school teen drama shit stuff. I loved that shit when I was 14-16. Also college with the crazy parties. Van The Man, Blue Mountain State and American Pie made me think that was normal and you didn't study. And so, they boast about it with all their might, they desperately wave their flag because they want to feel again the glory of seeing it waving on the moon's surface, they cry "FREEDOM!" when they see it's slowly being eroded with the passage of time, they cry "GUNS" when even if there are more guns than people in their country they never managed to stop their government from fucking them in the ass, they boast of a language they didn't even invent and it wasn't really thanks to them that it became the "world language".
