Why is living with your parents considered a crisis? Oy Vey, go rent a house or get a mortgage you can't afford, don't try and save your money by being frugal, go get your own place so you can get yourself in debt at an early age.

cuz western society is based on mindless consumerism and endless growth. so if younglings aren't spending their shekels on massively expensive things, then that hurts the system, which worries the shekelmasters.

It's just the false belief that moving out oh home is, and always has been, a universal step into adulthood.
The whole american/european/australian dream mindset only came about very recently.
It was just a response to the boom that happened during the cold war.
Long before that, in the olden days, kids would live with their parents indefinitely. Successive generations would live in the same household. And when a marriage happened, the wife would move into her husbands household and just become part of their family.
Because uprooting yourself is hard for many reasons.
Then western society became wealthy and their was a need to expand. But it's gone now.
People can't accept that time are changing.
