Used to be reaally good during soviet times and in the 90s. With 00s along came a shitty education system that fucked over everything.
Now, if you are not a really top tier math kid that gets a lot of attention, you will have way more knowledge than your day-to-day use needs but not even close to something that we used to have.

Standard high school mathematics is poor, some kids take an external extra mathematics class so that the step between university and high school is not so bad. I just went straight from high school to university and the jump in work load and difficulty is hard to adjust to at first. University if probably the same as most other countries
