What is the nicest nationality? You know, the country with the friendliest people and why?
Are you nice?
>>
Thais are the nicest people i've met, short of a few shitty cab drivers that tried to screw with me.
I've heard nice things about country bumpkin chinks as well.
>>
>>60176035
Never met a Thai.
>>

Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia. Worst, and at the same tame the best. /thread and now fuck off

No idea in reality, but there are some memes...

Americans. They are by far the closest to Brits compared to Euros and several magnitudes friendlier and ncier than euros.

People give the French a lot of shit for being rude to tourists, but from what I saw they're mostly like that in Paris. The Dutch are pretty cool too

All I know is fuck the Brits
>>
>>60175791
no im not nice
The nicest nationality is Americans
>>
Americans are very friendly on the internet.
>>
>>60176972
>Nice

>being said by a Britbong
I don't know how to react to this, I'm used to you knobs giving us shit... Are... Are you ok? Have you seen a shrink lately?
>>

Hey fuck you, I have cousins in Swindon who would take large offense to that!

They were the rudest people I encountered

>>

this.

I feel far more comfortable around the French than yanks and that is really saying something as the french go out of their way to make sure that you bend to their way of doing things(not that there is anything wrong with that, i'm living here). What puts me off Americans is that constant fake smile, it is genuinely creepy. I'm a smiley guy and don't struggle with social situations but Americans set me on edge with that fucking fake shit. Not to mention the inane comments about the shape of bread and how """rustic""" everything is. Or should i say, if it's not rustic it's quaint or exotic.

Americans are not as similar to the average brit as you'd think, they over compensate for a lack of culture and history by freaking the fuck out over the smallest shit when abroad
>>
>>60177254
The French are friendly outside of Paris, but don't mistake cultural differences for being "friendly". Brits are far more genuine than Yanks (same with the Frogs.) The Dutch appear very friendly because they're open and forward but are actually quite cold/closed off to anything deeper.
>>
>>60177320
Oh fuck, I hate those people, too. We can be friends
>>
>>60175791
Brazilians are nice/friendly too but not trustworthy
>>
>>60177395

If you can come and visit me and not lose your shit over a bakery then we will get along just fine.

I'm a Brit so a lot of the architecture and way of life is pretty new and interesting to me, a noice change of pace and I enjoy it a lot both as a tourist in other countries and as a resident in France but I don't wet my pants and make sure that everyone in a 20ft radius knows just how excited I am.
>>
>>60177437
Yeah, I wish they were more like Mexicans. At least if you're not involved in selling drugs or snitching, you don't have to be afraid of a Mexican cartel member

whereabouts are you based? how come you're over there?

Southwest, went travelling and just ended up never really leaving.

gf? do you work down there? sounds cool mate. I'm going to France and Spain in July. Been to France quite a bit before but only really as a kid, French countryside is based.
>>
>>60175791
Well, we Polish used to be very nice to visitors and guests, be it from other countries or from here.
Not sure if that didn't change, though...

I have had but nothing worth staying for

Yeah bro, took a while but I've landed something reasonable, not planning on staying past 2016 though

Enjoy it m8, where are you heading to?
>>
>>60178046
South West via Paris! Then walking across the Pyrenees into Spain. I really want to visit Provence at some point too.
>>
>>60178222

Sounds great, i'm live in a small town in the Gironde, based area in July. Not a huge fan of Paris, though but it's not as filthy as the memes would have you believe

Probably Filipinos and Canadians, or at least they were the most polite. I'm not sure about "nice" because it is hard to tell when the polite are sincere. As for Europeans, the ones I've met in America either blend in with the American way of arrogance or just criticize America like the stereotypical America-bashing European. All in all they're just two different breeds of misery, but at least they are sincere. Most of the Britbongs I've met have lost their sardonic humo(u)r after living here for years. As for the French, the older they are, the more critical they tend to be of America while millennial Frenchies love America. I've met other Europeans here, but not enough to really judge them. I will say the most bizarre foreigners I've ever met were from Ireland. They are difficult to understand on many levels, namely their self-deprecating irony and accent.
>>
>>60178513
I think Filipinos have a superficial friendliness.
Yeah Europeans are since but sometimes mean lol
Swedes are usually nice in a sincere way but not super extroverted
>>
france seems like a pretty nice country desu, but I'm always intimidated there because I don't know the language. netherlands and finland are god tier. Belgium seems like it would be cozy if it wasn't 99% muslim
>>
>>60178603
Swedes are racist towards us, Norwegians are based
>>
>>60178799
Swedes are forcing political correctness down our throats
>>
>>60178603
Personally, I haven't met many Danes, but they tend to be friendly. Those with Danish heritage are known to be very friendly, while for some reason Norwegians are thought of having thick skulls. These stereotypes were more present back when Scandinavian immigration was high in the 19th century and now only older American families are aware of this. I know this because my mother and father's families both lived in parts of the Midwest where there were Scandinavian immigrants. Anyway, as for today, hipster punk-ish girls in California love the various Danish bands like Iceage and their friends. Funny because they all dress like white hipsters from California and New York.
>>
Americans are friendly as fuck as tourists, euros are autistic or unpolite, specially french
>>
>>60178751
Belgium is extremely cosy, Brussels is shit tho.
>>
>>60179113
Danish band like Croatian Amor or Damien Dubrovnik ooooooOOOooo

Where are americans with scandinavian ancestry settled? Minesotta, North Dakota?
>>
From my experience:
1 - brazilians
2 - chinese (in China)

Im sure lots of people will disagree when it comes to chinese people but i genuinely met lots of great nice people while i was there.

I also really like croatians but they're not exactly "nice" just very chill and honest in a very particular way. I also like germans in this regard.
>>
>>60179223
Yeah, those bands. I never liked them back when I was sort of a hipster. I actually played in a Los Angeles band that was connected with a Norwegian band when I was a teenager. I'm not sure why, but there's a musical connection between them even though they are such different places. Maybe that's why Norwegian offers such great flights to and from LA and Northern Europe ;)

As for Scandinavian heritage, they mostly settled the Dakotas, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. My mother's family was from Wisconsin, and they are from other common Midwestern people (Dutch, German, and Irish). My dad's family is more British, but they met plenty of Scandinavians in other parts of the Midwest and my uncle who was adopted is actually of Norwegian descent.

If you want to read about Vikings in Southern California, look up Solvang. It's an odd tourist trap. I visited with a girlfriend and it was an interesting curiosity, though I doubt I will visit again.
>>
>>60179356
>chinese (in China)
Mainland Chinese can make for shitty tourists but they're good hosts(apart from the people that steal from tourists)
>>
Phillipinos
Greeks
English visitors here can be pretty nice
Americans; older ones
>>
>>60179696
>>60179356
It's funny that you mentioned in China, cause Chinese tourists (from China) ARE SHIT. Rude, filthy, everything the worst you can immagine. I rented some apartments in Zagreb, difference between Korean and Chinese tourist is just unbelievable.
>>
>>60179741
Americans was always nice cause they were always probably rich, and from good families.
>>
>>60177019
>Mediterranean people
>nice

Literally the snobbiest people
>>
>>60179696
Yes. I actually had no problems while i was in China besides the occasional taxi trying to rip us off. I honestly think it's the one of the safest country ive ever travelled to (and I didn't travel only to large, coastline cities) Since i travelled with 2 mandarin speaking friends (both portuguese but both fluent in mandarin) i was much luckier than most. Im also pretty outspoken and know how to bargain (although as a foreigner I'll never be able to get prices as low as Chinese do). Anyway most people were super nice. They'd engage in conversation, offer food, help with directions even when we couldn't understand them (some places we visited had accents that my friends could barely understand). A girl even offered me her seat while i stood in a train (after a long train ride and sleeping in a train station). She offered me food too and talked with me the whole train ride. People would take photos with me and were just generally nice all the time. I'm a hobbyist photographer and most would react super well to me taking their photos. No complaints from me.

>>60179760
I think they make lousy tourists because most of them are new to tourism. China had their very recent economical boom and a middle class finally became prominent in China. Not to mention how many high class rose too. And so they are only now leaving their country to visit other countries... but don't really know how to be a respectful tourist. I think this will change slowly as they become more used to it.

Btw loved Zagreb. Stayed at a great hostel over there (chillout)
>>
>>60180243
Chinese people sound like Albanians, my parents were in Albania one summer and they said they've never met kinder people. Always offering food, they are polite. Listen to this haha, woman who rented the apartment to my parents every morning when they woke up she gave them a flower and tea even they didn't ask for it, and she didn't talk to them not even a word cause she don't understand english or croatian or any other language besides albanian.
>>
>>60175791
Japanese not on /int/ though but in real life very humble and kind in my country.
>>
Out of central Europeans I've found Austrians to be the friendliest. More easy going and less snobbish compared to their neighbors.
>>
>>60180734
I found Koreans and Japanese very confusing people. You have to explain them how things work in such details that it's silly. How washing machine work? How doors work? How everything. Other than that they were always nice and humble. I love Japanese.
Brazilians were always nice also, it's funny how every Brazilian asked me the same question, 'is it safe to walk on the streets after 8 o'clock , i don't know was it because they really think Croatia is violent, or they are used to that question cause Brazil is violent.
>>
>>60180701
Haha reminds me of the owner of the guest house I was in Dubrovnik, he'd give us a bunch of tangerines every morning, would show us the best cheap places to eat, gave us a ride to the bus station, he even said he'd take us to one of the islands by boat if it wasn't with problems. Nice guy. Every Croatian I've met was nice, in their own particular way.
>>
>>60177189
>He takes the banter that one step further
Most of us don't mind you lad, you can just be to easy to mess with. Also find it funny when you use our slang. x
>>
>>60177373
I don't understand this euromeme, what the fuck do you mean by "genuine," because i genuinely think that saying that is retarded.
>>
>>60180865
They most likely asked it because it can be unsafe in Brazil. As someone whose lived there Im particularly wary of night time now (less than I was but still)
>>
From personal experience, non-parisian french people. It's almost a complete 180°.
>>
>>60180987
because this can happen at any time in brazil and breeds paranoia when traveling.

Hypocritical but polite: Japanese, Brits

Genuinely nice even if not as well-mannered: Filipinos, Americans
