Have you read El Quixote?
>>60127335
I tried. It's a boring piece of shit and I managed to end motherfucking Ulysses
It was a requirement. You dont pass the grade if you dont read it.
>>60127508
>I tried. It's a boring piece of shit
me too
It is on my "to read" list but no
>>60127846
Some people say the second part is more fluid and entertaining, well, this thread reminded me that I should download it and give it another try.
>>60127335
read only some bits and then dropped it
>>60127846
You're a boring piece of shit?
Boring shit
>>60128007
It does get better
At first is somewhat boring
>>60127335
Yes. I like it very much.
nope, was too confusing
>>60127335
>Grow up in La Mancha
>Everything is named after El Quijote
>Go to school named El Quijote
>Forced us to read fucking book in old Spanish.
>The book is about how dumb and useless people from La Mancha are.
>The message get lost, and people is super proud that they wrote about them.
The book is fucking insulting you, people, REEEEEEEEE
Yes
Masterpiece
>>60133865
This
It's a parody of Castillian society.
yep
ebin
It was boring. El Cid was way better.
Everyone is supposed to at least read some chapters of the first books on high school when learning about parodies, personally i have read it and think it's amazing.
>Only hispanics in this thread
Tell me Don Quichote and why should i read it
>>60134805
>El Cid
Corneille or the 11th century poem?
The Corneille one is really great
>>60127335
yeah in high school. is ok
The first part was really clever, and I enjoyed the Spanish version, even if I had to have a dictionary site open for every tenth word.
The second part was pure self-referential garbage that read like a fanfic of the original.
>>60127335
Yes. Funniest book I've ever read after A Confederacy of Dunces.
>>60127335
>Spanish still call it "Don Quixote"
>They still call us "Mejicanos"
>>60135201
Wrong pic
>>60135074
The 11th century poem, but thankfully I read a version that had both the archaic spanish and a modernized text.
I think I enjoyed the kebab removal aspect.
>>60135232
I'd see that movie.
>>60135232
Fuck you.
>>60135282
Thanks.
>>60135379
Why?
>>60135389
Latin-American actors? Are you fucking serious?
>>60135403
Sorry, I just don't know any Spanish actors except for Javier Bardem and Antonio Banderas. While I like Bardem I don't think he would fit the role. As for director, the only Spanish director I know is Luis Bunuel whose movies I love, but he's dead and I don't think his style would really fit.
>>60135445
To be completely honest, I don't know which Spanish actor I would choose for the role. But it would have to be someone similar to Nikolai Cherkasov.
I haven't seen his movie yet, but he fits very well the looks I always imagined for Don Quijote.
>>60135721
Pretty good casting, as far as looks goes anyway. Haven't seen anything of his.
>>60135232
You do know the curse on making a Quijote film, right?
Funny af
>>60135858
No
i only read vicente huidobro's cid desu and i found it kind of boring
