most people ran away and the countryside got empty, only towns kind of remained, Turks didn't invest into maintaining anything but walls and towers, most churches were left to Christians with a few converted to mosques, but treasures got looted, statues wrecked because muh idolatry.
And whatever remained got absolutely destroyed in the reconquista
to demonstrate the once densely populated and rich agriculture lands of the pannonian plains became heavily forested
In the 1800s when relations was good between Hungary and Turkey, richly illustrated Hungarian codexes were common gift by the Sultan to Hungarian envoys, thats how we got some of them back and no oen knows how many they still have, including other things.

We had these maps in our textbooks to show the extent of destruction, the left were villages and towns recorded in 1495, the right villages and towns recorded in 1780, colour indicating majority ethnicity, the middle large dots is where Budapest is today.
Not only the number of settlements got halved, with the exception of Pest-Buda they were all smaller, and only a fraction had Hungarian majority (black dots).
My town used to be so large not even today it reaches its medieval extent, deep plowing is probihited in the lands around the town since they are all archeological areas.
