I mean, they do have a higher murder rate, but their criminals aren't as brutal, organized or as permeated in their government as ours are. So, in my perspective, that levels things up.
Every other measurable statistic per capita is pretty similar. And I mean, really, really similar. Big economies but shit distribution, regional powers, life expectancy, universities (they actually BusTFO in this), gini, pisa, etc.
Mindset wise, I would say we are more similar to Colombia or maybe Venezuela.
