I think some parts of Bulgaria are also pretty heavily being developed at the moment, with some apartment complexes rising up in the midst of what looks like ruins. At least that's what it looked like at the apartment I looked at. I didn't actually decide it upfront, I visited it as tourist but by chance I saw an ad from IBM Bulgaria back then, applied and got the job. In terms of career development its a great place because its full of western companies and the job environment is very dynamic. Talking about Sofia though, but recently it expanded a bit to Plovdiv (best city in BG imo) and Varna or Burgas (better than Varna imo). I like it here, in many aspects Sofia is more modern than Germany, Bulgarians are often tech freaks or at least interested in such stuff, which I like. The Internet is fast as fuck and I like that some things aren't as bureaucratic like in Germany.

I mean flats are fine. You have a lot of them in the Netherlands as well, but they don't have to look depressing, they can look alright like you said if they're well maintained and they're an efficient way of living space.

Seeing what's happening to germany now are you happier that you moved to bulgaria? When I was thinking about moving to Bulgaria a lot of people told me that Burgas was filled with ehm, don't remember the name for them but basically bulgarian rednecks sort of, or gangsters or whatever.
So you work for IBM? My ex girlfriend had a friend whose dad worked for IBM and he had an amazing house at a lake there with boats and shit so I can imagine that IBM would be a good company to work for.
