Notion is a noun and is synonymous to words such as: concept, idea, opinion, etc. and implies some vagueness.
Thinking is as you know a verb which makes it completely different for starters but if we compare it to the noun "thought" it would be somewhat synonymous.
However unlike the more general "thought", "notion" is most commonly used in that very phrase: "preconceived notion" which is like an opinion formed without much thought put into it and because of this it is inaccurate and/or ignorant.

I made a mistake in calling "thinking" a verb, it's actually a noun.
Thinking usually refers more to "way of thinking" or the "activity of thinking" so it's quite different from "thought" and "notion" which on the other hand are synonyms.

"Preceonceived notions" is kind of like a stock phrase in English though, and I think everyone would assume that's what you meant if you said "preconceived thinking" (it's a pretty similar thing anyway).
