Aldi is shit in Germany though, the moment you walk in it smells like sweat, farts and people who haven't showered in weeks. Sure their prices are good but the experience of shopping there is terrible.

Very similar. Some products are higher quality I'd say, but they fewer products as their "Schnelldreher" philosophy (A shelf has to be empty in a week or it's not worth the space) is a bit more strict then with Lidl. they also didn't have a single brand product for a long time. Now they have Haribo, Mars and CocaCola producs as some people depend their decision on these and Lidl had them
