At the border checkpoint a few men with AKs will aproach you and yell something in Croatian at you. It's nothing to worry, they want you to eat a cevapi and drink a glass of home made rakija to prove you're a friend of the Croatian nation. If you do that they will greet you and all will be ok.

The formal way to greet a Croat is with "Ubi Hrvata". You should extend your right arm and make the Croat patriot sign; it looks like a peace sign but with your thumb extended as well.
That will show the locals that you are a man of good intentions and they will open up to you.
