I like Obama and I think that despite all the negative buzz about Clinton she will be a decent and strong president, as well as a worthy successor who will continue to improve on his ideas.

I approve of her hawkishness - Trump's tendencies to look weak against Putin makes him an unviable choice all by itself imo. I feel very secure that Putin won't have any wiggle room with Clinton as president. He and his crook state will hopefully suffer further economic contraction, as well as waning international relevancy.

It's not agression, you should understand the difference, aren't you? USA invaded our air space countless times but we know they will never attack. We did that too. I don't know why, it's some silly military game cold war style. Nothing happens.
>and since they actually attacked one of them
We attacked Georgia because we had support and excuse. We aided Ukrainian separatists because we had support and excuse. How would we attack other countries and why? How do you imagine that? Attacking NATO + more sanctions and real danger to Russia. It's a completely different case.

>>58852605
For example?
>>
>>58852615
I am not arguing what they will do or not do, I am saying people are aware now that Russia is unpredictable. Before ukraine events - Russia was aggressive bully. We should cooperate within the EU, but what the EU should and shouldn't do should be made more clear. Euro was a mistake for example.

It's definitely important that we keep the EU falling apart in this troubled time. I think it would hurt the continent a lot if the union was to start to fall apart, we need unity to compete against the rising powers in asia (and further down the line, africa).

>For example?

>>58852815
You are probably more right in this question. I am just guessing that even though people arent that concerned - the situation has changed with the Ukraine events and even if you arent afraid that something might happen in Sweden - you are aware that Russia still might start to enforce its view upon some country.

>>58852827
>Why? Serious question, I just don't know.
Not obeying border lines, banning trade of certain products in certain political moments, playing with gas/oil prices and supply. Thats bullying, but not on the same level that is happening today.
Not long ago there were spotted 3 helicopters crossing the lithuanian border near kaliningrad. One thing is to thread a border with a fast airplane. Other thing is to use military helicopters that are in formation.

>So we're completely safe and we don't need to protect our borders? How's that anyone elce's business?

Honestly, I dont give a fuck what you do inside your country. Nor do I give a fuck what frenchmen, or british or germans do in their own country. Its your country to ruin. If you believe that immigrants are a priority for your country - go ahead, but that aint my country. If you think your military is a problem in your country - go ahead, but dont threaten my country. If you attack neighbours - expect a backlash. I wont be quiet about the bad stuff you did to my country or to neighbouring countries. You have went past the line of normality. Its either Russia backdowns or Russia keeps igniting the situation until it explodes.Same happened with Germany. Same happened with Napoleons France. Same happened with Saddams Iraq.
Once you start using force on foreign entities - its very hard to stop doing that. And yet again, USA is an example of that. The time it took fro them to understand that Iraq was a mistake. The backlash that has created. Its not good.

>Was it bad? You had a functioning industry in USSR but you ruinned it in 90s. Not like I know much about Baltics.
Think about it. From your comments, I am gonna make a guess and say that you believe it is better to stay yourself than to make some extra money. I am not implying that I dont agree with that, but I am saying for you to take a look at that situation through that.

If I lived in those times and Lithuania would be independent - I would fear those countries. Lithuania, actually, was the first country to put nazis on trial.

The reason nobody (read: euros) gets worried about American interventions is because they're right there with us.

>What civil wars we started?
>implying spetznaz aren't in Ukraine right now

I'm not claiming moral high ground, just explaining why people worry about ruskies.

>>58854458
The current elections you keep hearing about are the party primaries, which are unrelated to the constitutional structure of the government. They're to narrow down the parties's candidates to a single nominee from each. There are always third party candidates on the ballot, but everyone knows they've got no chance, and so no one votes for them (and thus they have no chance, funny about that)

By doing what, building nuclear weapons? Because they already have standing armies.

I get it. thanks for the link. The shit is so complicated now, I wish we have some people to solve it soon. In like 20-40 years, politics from the new generation.

I didn't imply that, I implied Ukrainians started the mess on Maidan. they made even more diplomatic mistakes than Russian government. It's impossible for mortals.

>Because they already have standing armies.
DESU, those standing armies are pathetic. For example, Germany has only one functioning tank brigade. I wont even touch Lithuanias military capability. Only now have we started to pick up our part in our own defense.

Do what nato countries signed up for and spend that 2% of national budget on the military as was agreed.
>>
I prefer Trump over Hillary honestly.
Trump seens less of a warmonger than her. Maybe we can have a stable middle east for the first time.
>>
>>58854897
More like actually spending the nato requirement of 2% military budget
>>
You know, even my country not getting much from Trump's victory, I see much of Dilma Rousseff in Hillary. And noone, NOONE deserves a Dilma in their top Executive chair.

So, with a quite heavy heart, I hope Trump wins.

You expect a shithole like Poland which is literally sucking EU funds dry to spend as much money on an army as Britain?
>>
>>58855156
Yeah estonia is

I also think Poland is one of the few that actually is
>>
>>58854367
The industry in Baltics built by USSR was mostly only heavy industry, it was:
A. Massively unprofitable because it required imports from rest of USSR and when it dissolved that went down the shitter because no one wanted to import raw materials for nothing.
B. It was outdated and could not compete with western quality and eastern cheapness.
>>
>>58855156
>You expect a shithole like Poland which is literally sucking EU funds dry to spend as much money on an army as Britain?
Thats why the funding is calculated by percentages. 2% of their GDP.

>>58855216
I am fully sure that Lithuania and Latvia arent 2%.
>>
>>58855156
>You expect a shithole like Poland which is literally sucking EU funds dry to spend as much money on an army as Britain?
That's what was agreed on when they joined nato. 2% of the annual national budget. If they can't follow the rules why are they in nato in the first place?
>>
I'm voting for Hillary tbqh. Trump is fun, but the presidential position is serious. Somebody who doesn't recognize the importance of tact in politics and gets to the top based on demagogic rhetoric doesn't deserve to be U.S. president.

Think about the logistics for a moment. Military equipment is expensive and you can't have an army of just one type of personnel. You can't field one airplane and half a tank brigade, that's stupid.

sure, a warhawkish psychopath is way better than some blonde man shouting at china

We didnt even have a reserve. Infantry reserve. Its not about the costs. Its about the commitment. Estonia managed to do it. Other baltic states pretended everything was okay. Once the ukraine events happened - Lithuania atleast, took very sudden changes. By 2017-18 it is expected to be 2%. Conscription was reinstated. Stuff like that.

Fuck the military costs. It's useless for economy. These costs don't bring any benefits for country. We waste on it 5.2% GDP and I have no fucking idea why we do it.
>>
>>58856965
True. Making a properly equipped army and securing our giant borders with countries that import drugs and criminals is a bad investment.
>>
>>58857280
The military does none of those functions. There is border guards and criminal investigation institutions who are supposed to do that.
>>
>>58857343
>There is border guards and criminal investigation institutions who are supposed to do that.
This doesn't work for every country though. Sometimes you do need the military to do domestic duties. Look at Mexico. They've had the army and the marines fighting the cartels since 2006 because local and state police departments were outgunned or corrupt. In Russian, only the military is large enough to secure the borders.
>>
>>58857446
Thats an extreme case though. One might say that the proper institutions failed because of lack of support/funding.

But yes, you need a functioning military, eitherway.
>>
>>58854937
You think it was a bunch presidential types who did it? That's an interesting theory.
>>
>>58850900
He didn't, Hilary had more votes and the superdelegates chose Obama over Hilary because Obama looked like an up and coming star. Needless to say this resulted in Bill Clinton calling all of the delegates and screaming at them for stabbing him in the back.

Is this what happens when people in a country get too comfortable and bored? There aren't even any big problems with life in the US right now, but everyone's acting like the sky is falling to the point where they're wiling to elect an autistic populist as their leader. Do populations create their own problems when life becomes too easy?

By being black.

People will claim otherwise, but he was a literal who when he ran, and happened to gain enough support from blacks and cucks. The only reason he won is because the superdelegates switched over as well as Soros switched from funding Shillary to Obama.
