Also I get that it's a simplified map and all but accents in Southern Louisiana are extremely variable: some places sound like French, others sound like Mississippi, and some (like my area) just sound like a standard slightly Southern drawl. Depends on city, region, and even the street you live on at times. Look if you're a foreigner and you speak anything other than a Western, California accent, you're going to look like a poser. Western accent is the standard TV English that's on all TV, and movies unless the characters are specifically located in areas that have different accents. Because of this ita the accent everyone knows and pretty much the default. If you say you're from Poland in a southern, Midwestern, new Yorker, etc accent, you're going to sound like an idiot.
