I'm studying economics in a non-eu country right now. I want to do a master's degree in Europe or America. What are my options with a GPA like 2.7 - 2.8? I speak English and a little French. Do I have any chance?
>>
are you european citizen?

not even kurdistan would accept you

Ask your counselor or whatever you call them, everyone loves exchange students.

Hahahahahaha
>>
>>58823413
tough luck, europeans can just go to denmark
>>
you want at least a 3.5 to do graduate school in those places

unless south america or russia is okay
>>
>>58823195
America probably
The question is if you can get into a good school.
There's so many schools here, you can get into a grad program somewhere.
>>
>>58825311
I don't really care about the quality of the school. As long as it's not embarrassingly shitty, it's ok.
>>
>>58826600
Yeah, just avoid Phoenix University, Devry and other schools that advertise on tv(except for schools that advertise when their football/basketball team are playing)

I'm kind of interested in this thread. IIRC, in turkey master programs were free, and the education was pretty decent.

However, as in my country masters are kind of expensive, I'm looking forward to join a master program in a "free" education and prestigious country like germany or france.
DO you know how I calculate my GPA? In Spain grades are from 0 to 10, being 5 a pass, and 10 the highest mark. My average in my engineering degree is around a 7.3.
Thanks
>>
>>58826906

That's about a 2.5 GPA. You need a 8.7 to be 3.5.
>>
>>58826906
There are good schools in Turkey and yes public schools are free. I don't know about the quality though. Some are good, some are really bad. There's a big gap.

I'm not sure but it's probably around 2.5 like the other guy said. You have way bigger chance than I do because of your eu citizenship. Good luck my friend.

But how? if my grade is 7.5/10, it would be a 3/4, so my GPA is around 3?
I know in anglo countries its really easy to pass aand get good grades, bu In Spain getting good grades specially in engineering is really difficult, I actually know no engineer with more than a 8.0
So I think it must be calculated other way

I would consider studying in Moscow or St Petersburg. Is it really easy to get accepted into a English program there? I hope Erdogan won't do anything stupid anymore.

I'm not sure what grade 2.5 gpa translates into, or whether that is a good grade or bad.

But in Holland, we have some very good economics schools. Erasmus University is among the best in the world. You could give it a try here. I know several non-EU Turks who study there, getting study visa shouldn't be a big problem.

I only see 2 problems: Do you have the funds to finance yourself? Turks aren't the wealthiest folks around here no offense, and for non-EU citizens doing your masters can be a bit expensive. If you do have the funds, then let's move on to problem 2:

Will the school accept your application? Dutch universities don't really have very tough and strict requirements, it's not like it's super difficult to get in. But it's not extremely easy either. I'm thinking 2.5 GPA is average? If that's the case, depending on your CV and motivation letter you could have a good shot. Just try and see how it goes.

I'm not super rich but I can afford it. Money is not my main problem. It's acceptance. I would really love to study in Holland. Of course I know how good Erasmus University is. But it doesn't have to be it. Any school is kinda okay for me in Holland.
I have 2.8 GPA. It's not bad but not good either. it's 2.8/4. I guess I will try my chance. Thanks.

Could you guys enlighten me how should I translate my European 2-5 grading scale:
2 - failure - 0-50%,
3.0 - 51-60%,
3.5 - 61-70%,
4.0 - 71-80%,
4.5 - 81-90%,
5.0 - 91-100%,
into US and UK GPA scales?

Your gpa is shit
Why are you even doing economics?
You will need a gpa of at least 5-8 to do a masters in any decent eu uni
>>
>>58823195
Just go to Poland like everybody else here
>>
>>58829207
Dude, maximum score is 4. Its 2.8/4.
>>
>>58829455
Can't you take more than one subject?
>>
>>58829583
No. Just one.
>>
>>58829131
bump
>>
>>58827785
Wow is this a primal Pepe?
>>
>>58829455
>2.8/4
That's less than 7.5/10, shit indeed
>>
>>58831884
I know it's shit. That's why I asked if I have any chance.
>>
>>58832013
I guess you can get accepted in a low-normal tier uni. But don't even think of getting a scholarship, so you gotta pay up from your own wallet
