tuition for me is 1.5k for 5 months at a 4 year university and all I have is 1 scholarship that is given to everyone in my state that didnt have garbage grades in highschool.
My rent is $375 all inclusive for a 4 bedroom house less than 5 minutes from campus and there are even cheaper options available.

Because everyone deserves a chance at university and a country can only benefits with more graduates and more people with knowledge. Having everyone pay for more economical and educational opportunities in the future sure beat up the fact over people having to save up over a fraction of their wealth for themselves. thats on the lower end as far as 4 year universities go as it is a public university and I pay in state tuition. There are technical schools that offer associates degrees and credits that transfer to 4 year unis that are as low as $350 a semester but there are also private universities that are as high as $60,000 a year.

I actually decided to look up some university rankings. The school im attending is ranked just slightly behind your BEST university (Sao Paulo) and is significantly ahead your 2nd best (Campinas). I checked two different sources and this was true with only slight differences.

Yes it is, it isn't only if you truly believe that a ranking can clearly classify objectively every compound that makes a university, which included literally teacher quality, what they teach, the quality of the students, how motivated they are, how the direction of the university is and tons of other factors. What those rankings do is literally getting how much academical output they do, like patents, researches and other stuff, and one thing that they consider really highly is the amount of academic papers IN ENGLISH published by international communities, which obviously doesn't mean as much for non-anglophone countries. That is why you guys dominate every university ranking.

The rankings I'm looking at only consider research output as 20% of the rating.the rest is academic performance (based off of standardized tests) faculty to student ratio. The amount of field medals/Nobel lauretes/national education rewards present among the faculty. And the level of technology availible to the researchers on campus. Only the research citations portion gives a special bias to english speakers. This is nowhere near enough to make up the difference
