If purely geographically, we'd simply take the northern-/southern-...most extreme points, calculate the middle, and then draw straight lines through it

north Serbia is kinda similar to Slavonia in terms of geography but the mid and south of Serbia is filled with mountains and is as balkan as it gets
but other than that I guess it's just traditions and culture, they got more turk/russian influence while we got a more western cultural influence
