finland's first national park founded in 1842 by Nikolai I is in my small city, the rapids were also one of the largest in europe until they were dammed for electricity and they now produce roughly 10% of all the energy in finland
the park around the rapids itself is very beautiful and many russian tourists visit it while they are shopping in here
