What will happen when Britain runs out of living space?
>>
Seems comfy as fuck.
>>
Only 2.27% of England is actually built on.
>>
that's when the race war happens

human beings are territorial animals, and when there's different groups fighting over very limited amounts of space conflict happens.
>>
Is England that small
>>
>>58082387
We've got plenty of green fields, people just don't want to build lots of souls suburbs like the USA.

That looks alright to be honest. Would happily live in that.

Also, England is relentlessly full of one and two story terrace housing/apartments. One obvious solution would be to start building 4, 5 and 6 storey instead, like pic related (though they obviously wouldn't all look that nice).
>>
>>58082387

Our greenbelts are nothing to be proud of.
They are mostly de-forested fields used for farming.

Another one of those things which makes me scratch my head about England. Why do we have to cut down almost all of our forests to have farmland? Continental Europoors have way more forestry than us.
Like, I live in an area which is very green, yet there is no where to go for a wander, because it's all farmland.

In fact, those are the 2 things which make me scratch my head. Our sub-par housing and our forest-less rural areas.
>>
>>58082982
Imagine if we London just spread and consumed all of the London greenbelt area.

Some people like me spend all day in either a bedroom/PC room, home theater or kitchen. Basically 3 rooms I use in my parents home 99% of the day. Rest of the house is full of their junk as I take care of my dad and he likes to collect things

If I had a place of my own I would only need those 3, plus a bathroom and place for a car. I've thought it out, and if I had a 4th room I honestly would probably just use it for storage and some home gym stuff to compliment a gym membership

I mean, I spend most my free time at home in one room and I don't feel cramped

The issue instead becomes soundproofing from neighbors. I would want to have the sound system for gaming/movies/tv be at an epic volume and not have angry neighbors.

>>
>>58087084
the houses are not the problem, the dead streets and non city feel is the real issue.
>>
>>58090322
I think this is the way London is going, the problem is that they are buying older and bigger flats, converting them into 2 flats then charging 20% more for each than the original rental price of the single larger flat. It feels like everyones dream in the UK is to just buy a load of houses, rent them out for extortionate amounts and not have to work. This means half the population (who are quite happy to only ever own 1 house in their entire life) struggle to even buy a 1 bedroom crack-den from a foreign investor at a massively inflated price because they're already paying the same foreign investor 80-90% of their wage on rent.

>>
>>58090900
Housing as an asset is really a poison desu
>>
>>58091276
Why?
>>
>>58091357
Because people just buy lots of houses then vote for the government to not build more so they become extremely wealthy were as normal people (like me) will never ever be able to buy a house. The housing situation in the UK is so it actually makes me upset our tiny houses are just getting smaller and smaller and more expensive and more expensive.

All they have to do is start building apartment buildings with more than two or three stories, like the rest of the world.

>>58091540

They cost £60,000 to make, lets say the land costs £100,00, the developer will probably sell it for £200,00+ which currently works out at $285,000
The rent of £750 would quickly increase as one person buys the entire street of these from the developer and jacks the rent up to £1300 to pay off his investment. This would then give the false illusion that the housing in that particular area is in high-demand causing the rent everywhere else to go up further to match it while drawing in more investors who have the same idea (buy cheap house, put it straight back on the market for 15% more or rent it out)

Good, they should. You shouldn't build on the green belts just because you "can". There's already enough retards building on flood plains and you want people to have more unrestricted development to build their Tesco's?

Now, I live in Wales. And a lot of the land that isn't built on is not suitable. If you built a house in some of these places you'd be a retard. Keep the green belts and just slow down immigration. Birth rates are already completely fine.
