I'd just like to interject for moment. What you're refering to as wew, is in fact, wew/lad, or as I've recently taken to calling it, wew lad. Wew is not a meme unto itself, but rather another internet meme component of a fully functioning shitposting system made possible by 4chan gets, reddit upvotes and shitposters comprising a full shitpost as defined by [s4s].
Many memes use a modified version of the memeing system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of wew lad which is widely used today is often called wew, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the wew lad shitpost system, developed by [s4s]. There really is a wew, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Wew is the main shitpost: the shitpost on the internet messaging boards that allows the other posters to respond to your shitpost with a copypasta or image reaction. The shitpost is an essential part of a meme, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete meme. Wew is normally used in combination with lad: the whole system is basically lad with wew added, or wew/lad. All the so-called wew posts are really shitposts of wew lad!

Condemned yourself? Humanities are not a condemnation if you are a beast. My former colleague finished something within humanities and he has a really solid paying job now, a stable one, for that matter. He was the top of the class. Focused, and willing to become an expert in the field. The reason why such professions are in low demand is the quantitative approach towards education. Pump out as many graduates as you can, without creating experts. Mere "holders of diploma". I know a fellow who finished Russian here. He's a superstar. Found job right in the government. Why? Because he was approached during his fourth year of studies. I mean a major in languages, right? Now he works a cushy government job, foreign relations. Because he showed extraordinary aptitude for Slavic languages in general. He can run them, tear the apart, tell you all about etymologies and such...
And there are, without caricaturing, people who are, let's say minors in Spanish/Portuguese/Italian, that know how to translate text, speak with you, but when you ask them what a subjunctive is, where it comes from or where does the article in Romance language come from, or the etymology of the word "muro" in Spanish, they just look blank at you. "It's just "muro" and if even less attentive in class, they'd guess the gender. As I said. Walking translators. Not experts with passion

You should have written a paper at least. Get involved in something. It's much harder achieve "practicality" with Humanities than STEM studies. They are "forced" to undertake application there. Humanities students are not. Yet the very same students expect theoretical knowledge, application and a job waits for them just by sitting on their asses, listening to a lecture. You have to publish, innovate, involve in your academic surroundings (university)

>>58035577
He's trying to say that by learning a harder language, he will have be able to apply a "mental trick" on himself. My dialect only uses a single letter to greet people and ask them how they are. It's like tonality introduced into a Slavic language

High pitched "e" indicates "Hey!". It was first "Hej", then it turned into "ej", now it's just "e"

Neutral "e" is acknowledgement, support.

Interrogative "e" is "How are you?"
Interrogative "a" means "What did you say?" (you'll hear this a lot in Dalmatia)

What are some differences between Romanian and Spanish...I have several nailed down:

You derive your plural nouns (like Italian) from the nominative case (the -i ending)
Have additionally a genitive, dative as well as vocative, while other Romance languages have a singular taken from the accusative vulgar Latin and that's just it. No declension
- Romanian also has a neutrum that acts like vulgar Latin's neutrum (singular - masculine declension, plural - feminine declension)
- You append your articles to the end of the noun (-ul for male, -a for female and -ea/-ua for neutrum)
- You have those vowel mutations that make me want to kill myself
- You don't use a certain past tense, I remember that, was it preterite? Just replaced it for "have + verb" or something like that

I can talk unofficially, but i've never been good at grammar stuff. I mean, i learned english off cartoon network, and other stuff by ear.
>Have additionally a genitive, dative as well as vocative, while other Romance languages have a singular taken from the accusative vulgar Latin and that's just it. No declension
> Romanian also has a neutrum that acts like vulgar Latin's neutrum (singular - masculine declension, plural - feminine declension)
> You append your articles to the end of the noun (-ul for male, -a for female and -ea/-ua for neutrum)
> You have those vowel mutations that make me want to kill myself
Yes, all this bullshit.

this is interesting, it's how i learned english too
do they dub or add subtitles in your country?
>>
>>58044417
dub now, sadly, for western cartoons.
Documentaries and anime get subs.
But when i was little, they didn't add anything.
>>
>>58044197
>>58044417

Is this really how a large percent of the population learned English?
I feel like it's inadequate in regards to more complex grammatical structures and verb tenses.
I mean at least we don't have gender.
>>
>>58044417
Nope, cartoon network in the 90's up until ~2007 was english dub only and no subs. Movies have english dub and ro subtitles. It's very rare for something to have romanian dub, mostly stuff from Disney.
>>
>>58044417
they dub , unfortunately .
when i was young , i wished they used subs , the english jokes didn't make any sense and i was translating them in my head to understand them .
You could've selected the english language and i understood 85% of it , but that's it . That happened when i was in like third grade or forth

It's a psychologically inquired fact that kids are sponges. Yes, it is. Interlinear method is the best, in this case subtitles, not dubs. Believe we, I tried re-watching the cartoons I liked as a child using a Spanish subtitle but I just can't "soak" it in like I could before...
>>
>>58044571
you basically absord the structure and content.

Since english is pretty simple it works particularly well.

What would y'all say is the hardest part of understanding/speaking/reading/anything in English?

A very standard sentence I might say could be:
Well, I've'ben tellin' y'all tha(t) Y'all'd've known that already if y'all''d've payed attention and not foold a'round durin' class, but y'all're gonna do what y'all wanna do.

My only problem with English, even though I'm a native speaker is all the sounds we just simply drop resulting in our words running together.

I spoke with a Romanian girl. She moved here two years ago (studies at the academy of music). You utilize similar body language as other Balkanites. She had a "keep distance" stance, prefered simple, poignant words to technicalities, somewhere in between physical and distant (leaned in when she wanted to really make a point, whole body movement). She kissed me on the cheek even thought we met for the first time (in my part of the country, we kiss on both cheeks though)
That's as far as I can remember. Nothing out of the Balkan context...Oh, she's from Cluj-Napoca, that definitely might add some context

that's a though question. i think i can speak english at a native level, i can even do different accents including australian and kiwi, but i started learning it a long time ago. i can't honestly say what was the hardest bit for me. all i can say is that if i talk/type with people who happen to use bad english (like other second-language english speakers) i tend to catch their vices. it's not good. but at the same time it makes me sound not so presumptuous so it's good i guess.
and that sentence wasn't that hard to understand.

You're not making a large mistake. A lengthy one, several thousand years of language shaping, but not a large one...
It all boils down to the same PIE root "dyews", also "dyewos". The Italic people took to the latter, the Hellenic to the former. That's how "Zeus" happened, and "Deus" in the Italian peninsula

Let's be honest, romanian is clearly a romance language, but it retains more gramatical shit from classical latin than the rest of romance languages, and also it was influenced by slavic, but not that important. Most of slavic words in romanian have also a latin synonym p.s "slava-glorie"

Cernea is a faggot.
Even before the state budget cut all of the support for church building at the end of last year, the amount that was being illegally funneled towards it was highly insignificant compared to the state budgets.
No, if we want this state to actually work, and shit to be accountable, we must focus on the massive corruption and money leaks that are happening in the domains(healthcare, culture) that we are bitching about, not scapegoat it on Daniel's stupid pet project.
It isn't because of that cathedral that our healthcare is shit, it's because our healthcare is a corrupt, broken, system that sucks money into it's own black holes, and must be reformed and ruthlessly purged of it's inefficient elements.

pas tout à fait, dans le vraie vie les Français pensent que les Québécois ont l'accent le plus hilarant au monde et que nous sommes mignons lorsque nous essayons d'être sérieux tout en utilisant notre accent.
