I don't think desktops are ever coming back to the home. They're pretty much only used in commercial settings like office buildings or schools or industries where you need a lot of processing power. Laptops are more than powerful enough for consumer purposes, if anything laptops with a docking station for an external GPU will overtake desktops in the home market. I'd like that desu, if gaming laptops had more user replaceable/upgradeable parts and a docking station for an external GPU.
