Yeah, the Plano Piloto, the core of the city/planned part of the city is real good, the quality of life here is absurd when compared with the rest of the country. That would be Paris. Reims is a bit different, we don't have Haussman's architecture, all buildings are smaller and the historical centre is minuscule.
We have however fairly well conserved Romans ruins and the city is much cleaner.
>>
>>57983350
How culturally enriched are you?
>>
>>57983204
Well yeah but only because electricity is like 6 times as expensive here as in Murrica
I'd kill for an AC when we get one of those heat waves where it can get to high/low of 40/25°C. No matter how well insulated the house is or how much you keep your windows and blinds shut, the sleeping room will eventually head towards 30°C, so sleeping is a disgusting sweatfest. I know it's only a couple days to weeks per year, but still I wonder if the cost of an AC would eventually be cheaper than having to change and wash bed sheets every 1-2 days, plus there's the additional comfort which you really can't quantify in money

There a fair bit of Arabs and Blacks here, mostly in Croix-Rouge and Neufchâtel.

The guys in Neufchâtel are fine and the place is great.
Croix-Rouge is different. The majority of people are nice, but the place is dangerous at night, unfortunately, mostly because white thrash and stupid Muslims fight each others.
But since a fairly prestigious management school is located here, it can't be that bad.

The French at least have very cheap nuclear electricity, they even heat with it (unthinkable here, it's all oil or gas). Dunno about the Dutch, but for a fact we have among the, if not the very most expensive electricity in the world (€0.30/kWh) thanks to Greens and corruption

Yeah, I recall that the expense of electricity in Germany was a government initiative, but I was unsure if the cultural phenomenon translates to other European countries.

>The French at least have very cheap nuclear electricity, they even heat with it (unthinkable here, it's all oil or gas).
Nuclear energy is practically-speaking the only sustainable source of electricity, unless you have a unique geography like Norway that allows you to exploit hydroelectric power. The fact that anti-nuclear lobbies prevent construction of new Gen III/IV power plants is why we still rely on obsolete reactor designs, but that's also a problem in our country, so it's not like I can't resent the German government in particular.

>>
>>57988538
Well personally I have mixed feelings about fission myself. Of course it's very easy to do reactor-wise, but problems arise from the facts that 1) uranium is a similarly limited resource as oil/gas and also mostly found in 3rd world shitholes, demanding the uphold of military or other presence and 2) waste storage is still unresolved and the cost laid down on the taxpayer, so it doesn't directly show up on the electricity bill. They have been searching for a final storage site here for over 60 years now with still no results, spending tens if not hundreds of billions of taxpayer money in the process
If only clean fusion became possible one day... (they've been saying "it's around the corner any time now!" since the 50s)

>1) uranium is a similarly limited resource as oil/gas and also mostly found in 3rd world shitholes
I guess I haven't thought of that before. NA doesn't appear to have a uranium scarcity issue. Then again, Australia contains a third of the world's uranium deposits, so I'm not sure whether uranium supply is a valid issue of military interventionism.
>2) waste storage is still unresolved and the cost laid down on the taxpayer
Part of the issue is again the public's apprehension toward nuclear reactor research. Molten-salt reactors produce virtually no tangible high-level waste. Instead of burying waste, you can also recycle waste in fuel rods, like France does to recycle unspent actinides.

I think the issue as a whole is blown out of proportion.
