My grandparents apparently traded their salt and sugar and a good screwdriver for extra rations of some tomatoes, beets, peppers and the main dish was a small hunk of ham. When my parents sat at their dinner table and thanked my grandparents for their wonderful meal, prayed and began to eat my grandparents did not eat - they just watched.
