The Soviet union never poured any money in eastern europe, maybe ageing military eqipement, in most countries they basically stole all the industry after ww2(for ex romanian factories, the treasury and a FUCKING lot of romanian petrol, and this lasted from 1949 to 1958). Before ww2 Romania was a constitutional monarchy with a very good economy, but during and after communism we became the shithole of europe, along with other iron courtain countries.

I can only speak about Latvia (and probably Lithuania by extension), but it is Communist CULTURE, not direct Communist damage. Sure, USSR raped us, but we should have recovered by now if that was all.
