that depends on where some places have all of the abobe while others have nothing like that at all , but we do have Pink bats and foam in the walls on alot of houses now even state houses

I read similar statements often on /int/. What do people even mean with "there's nothing to do here"? Like what are some things you would be doing if you lived somewhere else, which you can't do in chch/dune?
I myself live in Flanders, one of the most densely populated regions of the world, but it's really quite boring here. Literally all you can do is hang out in a city and go to bars at night, maybe a concert or music festival once in a while but those aren't daily activities at all.

hey new zealander here, but currently living in hk
i was born in new zealand, and it's a fantastic place. really beautiful, nice weather, super nice people, and it's a nice place to live. if you're gonna have a kid, nz is the best place in the world for that.
but, i do feel like me moving back to new zealand would be a bit of a step back. i've already experienced new zealand, went to milford sound, rotorua hot springs, cape reinga, palmerston north, christchurch, dunedin, and lived in auckland.
kinda at a crossroads for where to move next. thinking australia, seattle, or london

Christchurch essentially lost its city centre where young people used to hang out. There's nightlife and bars here now, but there's no "downtown" anymore like there is in Auckland and Wellington.
Dunedin was always too small to have much of a city centre anyways, but the nightlife will be better there.
If you like hiking and doing stuff outdoors you will love it though

rotorua has things to do too but its the same as queens town in a way its a tourist trap now-a-days, but wortha short stay but i wouldn't live there
In saying that they are really nice places to stay and live as i have relitives living in both cities.
Best skiing is Mt Ruapahu or Mt hutt in the northisland or Mt cook in the southisland.
but yeah most of the good stuff its all out doors stuff
these are not like day tramps they can sometimes be like 10 days and 200KM on foot with rough tracks or some good tracks on DOC sites
