How many years of training did it take, do you have an aquaculture degree or just a few hundred hours of dives and a Tafe course or something. I have my open dive qualification but I assume it takes more than that.

You have to have a minimum of an aquaculture dive ticket. With your open dive ticket you should be able to get an ADAS aquaculture ticket within a short period of time
Keep in mind that "aquaculture diving" varies from company to company, the type of fish you are going for, the systems your company has in place etc, Even companies like Tassal and Huon which are next door to each other and produce the same fish have radically different systems and standards in place

Is farmed salmon more economical and, barring some changes in process, more sustainable? Absolutely.
Food has to come from somewhere. These types of people are the most entitled in our planets' history. First time in human history that starvation is not a major problem and they want to complain about the sourcing now.

It has nothing to do with that. The red color of salmon comes from what they are eating. For the farmed salmon this is added artificially to the food given to the salmons.
