Cantonese is pretty bad, too. My area has a fuckton of Chinese so I hear Mandarin and Cantonese all the time. I'm still not 100% sure but I've just been assuming the more annoying variant is Cantonese.
Korean is particularly annoying for me though because it sounds like Japanese, and I can understand some Japanese. So if I hear a conversation in Korean, I mistake it for Japanese and try to understand some of it. Then I realize it's all gibberish, so it must be Korean.
