I've noticed liberals are usually the louder ones, so it gives the illusion they are much larger than they actually are. I do see where you're coming from, a LOT of people my age only see their side of the issue, laughing at Trump even being an option. But they are not beyond reason. I've spoken with many on issues like allowing migrants in, and after seeing what happened in Europe, are hesitant, recently-turned-conservative, or just silent.
