I'm not sure about it right now, but I know when oil is booming, there's a huge demand for labour in the oil sands. Even basic manual labour is needed, and if you have any skills, they'll pay you a ridiculous amount of money.

and I've started exactly right there as a intern, earning R$1,2k and without experience, so I wouldn't say it's extremely hard to find something worth your while.
