I've lived in Alberta my whole life, and I feel like it is one of the best places I could have been born. Plenty of wealth, especially in oil. The summer is the best. The sun sets late, then it gets chilly. Beer and campfires. Lakes. Boating. It is a nice place. The cities can be kind of dreary in the winter. I live in a suburban area where everything is A-OK every day.

Canada is awful for a white person. I live in a fairly white area in Ontario but had to move to Toronto to University and I constantly get lowkey racist remarks from nonwhites. All the time. I tried to point out the double standard a lot of them have for generalising and putting all whites in the same group of oppressors and racists and I got responses like "kill yourself", "you shouldn't even exist" which unironically were encouraged by everybody around.
Professors in university will very likely try to sabotage your grades if you're one of a few white students in a course so it wouldn't look like the white person got the highest mark. I have a friend who got B in a College English (piss easy for native speakers, basically writing essays) course because his professors (a feminist btw) was constantly mentioning white guilt as an off topic during classes. International students on 1st semester from India got A+.
