Lol, it's true. I demand explanation what is going on between these 2 countries.
>>
My opinion:
Azers would win because they have much more strong economy and army. Russia would sell weapons to the both sides and earn money, we wouldn't support any side because we have large Azerbaijan and Armenian diasporas. But Russia won't let Azerbaijan to become too powerful because Azerbaijan is a Turkey ally and we have hostile relationships with Turkey now due to Erdogan autism (I personally like Turks and they would be great ally in MENA if not the idiocy of their government. But I believe we would restore good relationships after Erdogan because it was and would be highly benefitable for both countries).

>>57266168
dude, calm your anus, its not a war just border clashes, happens once a year, nothing serious.

in 1 week no one will even talk about it.
>>
>>57266372
After the fall of Soviet union they had war (based on an ethnic conflict between them and rise of nationalism in all the post-soviet countries in the first half of 90s) which ended with creation of On-Mountain Karabakh republic inhabited with Armenians as enclave in Azerbaijan. For the last 20 years the hostility in their relationships has been gradually increasing. Russia historically supported more Armenians as fifth column in Ottoman empire and now Armenia has a mostly pro-Russian government as well as influential diaspora worldwide. Russians have equally cold but not really hostile relationships with both nations (and Russian nationalists hate them both) but some would support Armenians more due to their Christian religion.
On the other side Azerbaijanians have a big diaspora in Russia (for example, admin of main Russian imageboard 2ch is Azerbaijaian) and the most prosperous economy of Caucasus. Some would think that Iran could support Azerbaijan due to their Shia religion but Azerbaijan is highly secular country, and consider themselves brothers of Turks.

Yep, they had that in the last war too, but Armenia won that one because all the Armenians had conscription. I don't know how the current situation is.

No one, both countries have strategic meaning for Russia. We have tight economy links and both big Azerbaijanian and Armenian diasporas.

Highly not recommended. Leaving aside far right views of poltards who have no idea about Southern Caucasus but make memes and stating their opinions, you just won't have many information from the West. You'd better use 2ch*hk/wm with google translate or asking your questions in English.

If Russia doesn't then Central Asia will abandon them.

Actually nationalist/left turks are good guys and Ataturk and Turkey give the good example for all the MENA countries. Also we had a very good economy and political relations before that accident with plane. My opinion that Turkey after Erdogan could be a good friend of Russia.

>Armenia and Russia are both members of a military alliance, the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), along with four other ex-Soviet countries, a relationship that Armenia finds essential to its security. Among the contracts and the agreements, which determine intergovernmental relations – a treaty of friendship, collaboration and mutual aid of 29 August 1997 are a number of the documents, which regulate bases of Russian military units and liaisons in the territory of Armenia.
>>
>>57270313
Yes, we have ODKB but we won't give a shit about it if it doesn't benefit us. You take all these conventions too seriously.
>>
>>57270471
Okay but if somehow Azeri started to defeat Armenia and invade the official country, your military would respond.

To show your allies you aren't willing to respond unless it's "convenient" is a great way to lose them.

Putin and the Russia government defended Assad because of the security treaty. He proved that Russia will stand with her friends.

And that is huge.

I am not sure that allies of Russia rely on the international reputation of Russia much in their decision making.

Like, Russia's allies are going to walk off if Russia mistreats some other little country that was it's friend. Unreal politic
>>
>>57278309
More like, lesser powers aligned with Russia are loaded with Russian agents and they are playing for personal gain, the benefit of the Russian state and maybe the benefit of the local little territory in the Russian sphere.
The great boss gets a little reputation problem, well that is a negative to work around.

>Putin and the Russia government defended Assad because of the security treaty.

Putin defended Assad because he was about to lose Russia's only overseas naval base. This base is a big fucking deal when it comes to Russian power projection into the Mediterranean
