Often called one of the worst trains in Britain.
They were built in the early 80's from bus parts as a stop gap for better trains to be built, but the better trains were never built.
Fortunately, they no longer comply with some disability law so they have to be taken out of service in 2018. But on low usage lines that use these, they're going to be replaced by trains that are either a year older, or converted trains from the London Underground that are 5 years older.

for me anyway, it's easier to get the train because I have a station 5 minutes from home and when I travel down to London or south of London, my final destination is always near stations
The train ends up being a bit cheaper, a bit quicker and more convenient

My city has trams but they're one of the most silent(74 dB ) in the whole EU so they like to hunt for people who don't use their brain and eyes.

scottish trains - not super fast, but never need to go very far
>>57185403
I don't use them often because they don't really go to the places where I live or work but we got only 3 lines now and will have 7 till 2025.
>>57176871
Trains are naturally comfy, the ride is smooth and regular, the big windows allow you to observe the landscape without thinking, and there's more space once seated than in a car, bus or place.
All of this provided it's not a shit train.
>>57173403
Thanks for redesigning some New York subway trains, those are always shit.
