The power is in the old communists which are still present in nowadays Macedonia. It's not that Serbs are doing anything to influence you, your old communist scholars and politicians are doing it. Because admitting Macedonia is not real kinda takes away the foundation for their existence. And whilst Macedonia was founded by the communists it made a lot of sense denying and punishing everything Bulgarian it nowadays in theory could be disbanded as policy as Bulgaria is no threat for you, yet it continues and it continues because there is no way back in terms of admitting the last 70 years your population has been brainwashed. Nor I guess is it a comfortable thought for any of your inhabitants that their identity is actually made up. And so I guess all goes on with the more comfortable version of you being Macedonians beyond the regional identity of Macedonia.

About Gruevski I read that he actually has ties to our secret service and there are in fact indicators that he is at least influenced by us in some ways. He worked as a regional director in a Bulgarian Bank for a long time, a position you cannot get as average Joe but only for political influence.
