Target acquired.

Should've just rebuilt the towers with the same blue-prints.

I've always wanted to fly a plane into a replica to see if the truthers were right.

ugly glass monument to compromise and mediocrity. modern architecture is garbage.
>>
>>57079820
Forgot they finished it. Good to see they built the property up again, would have been a waste of good real estate.
>>
was awe inspiring in person because it was much bigger than i was expecinting. when you stand below (from the main tourist entrance side) and look up it looks like it goes on forever because of the tapering. the elevator ride to the top was awesome and of course the view can't be beat. im happy with it- but it would have been neat to build the worlds tallest building there just for dick waving purposes (but i guess its not worth it when you know someone would just build something taller after a few years)
>>
>>57079820
not enough steel
>>
i though the WTC was two towers?
>>
>>57080017

The trump tower's observation lounge has a nice view of those buildings
>>
I actually visited the observation deck located at the top floor. It costed me around $40 per person.
>>
They should have made it a fortress with huge SAM batteries and myriad point defense systems. Just to prove that terrorism works.

Given its history, a bomb-proofed foundation and basement would be cool too.

Our revenge for the rip-off that is Tokyo Tower.

Ugly tower with an even uglier antenna. The twin towers were so distinctively New York (and even more since 9/11) that most people would've been happier to see the twin towers back up again but they had to turn ground zero into an art project.
>>
>>57080100

They are building others as well.

Went with a friend that was visiting and wanted to see it. One of those yuppie people that wants to do everything in the guide book.
>>
>>57080614

actually most people found them to be ugly eyesores.

Everyone I knew thought they were ugly and new yorkers got butthurt at it because the Sears tower was tower

Like the UN building?
>>
>>57081162
It is though
>>
>>57080100
they merged two towers into one in the design
can you see what they did there?
architecture too advanced for mudslimes to comprehend. They'd like, fly at it, then get confused not knowing which one to hit and probably crash into the river.
>>
>>57081233
Not that guy, but I was 17 at the time the towers came down so I can pretty much verify the other poster is correct. We all thought they looked like shit.
>>
Seer from /x/ here

>in following months war will break out between the UK/UN vs Argentina over Falklands

>Massive casualties on both sides

>Argentina will arise victorious and claims to the Malvinas will be given to them.

>Do not part take in this war under any british banner

>Fate must unfold
>>
>>57081233

Chad is right, though. People just got used to them and framed shots of New York around them, but as we all know, it didn't last. At least the architect died years before his short-lived structures were destroyed.

The real reason the average american cares about them at all is muh 9/11, but the truth of the matter is that most people did find them to be... I can't improve on Chad's phrase: ugly eyesores. Even in New York, which is saying something.

Personally I liked them because I like autistic-looking Stalinist-tier buildings, but even I realize that this is a minority opinion.

I'm also very annoyed that we only built one replacement, and left two gaping holes in the ground.

>>57081162

Yes, it is, so. The pinnacle (not office space) was specifically engineered for this meme.

>>57081319
>>57081572
I was 15 and loved them.
Anecdotes != statistical evidence
>>
>>57081381

That other anon is probably only thinking (incorrectly) in terms of top floor or similar, and not pinnacle height.
>>
>>57081319

*taller

I'm from new york. my families from new york. most people thought they were ugly buildings. hell, even its wikipedia page says as much:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Trade_Center_(1973%E2%80%932001)#Criticism
>>
>>57081802

You screenshot this as if it isn't very, very obvious by reading my post, that I've looked at it. You seem to believe that you have cornered me or something.
>>
>>57081904
Where?

>>57081951
It's 1792 feet tall.
>>
>>57079820
looks feminine the other two towers had a more rigid and tougher appearance. new york now looks like it went fag.
>>
>>57080795
Before the attacks, obviously. But after 9/11 most New Yorkers just wanted to see the towers back (I remember there was a poll the NYP did back in 2002).
>>
>>57082166

>Thinking about dicks
>>
>>57082267

true a lot of people became endeared to them after the attacks. i wouldn't have complained had they been rebuilt, but i really like the new tower.

No. It's 1792.

Or is a radio tower 5 feet tall?
>>
I think it looks nice and sleek as shit. Took forever to build though. http://youtu.be/Nn11DWH_LEA
>>
its ugly
>>
>>57081701
This anon is correct. WTC towers were long regarded as the bane of the Manhattan Skyline.
>>
>>57079820
looks pretty good imo. I flew into the airport in new jersey on a sunny day and it really stood out from the other skyscrapers. pretty good as far as buildings go. 10/10 would building.

Could you throw something from one tower to the other?
