I wanted to tell my mum all about it but first curiousity got the better of me. I had to see my eyebrows for myself and so off to the bathroom I go.
It's horrifying. I had somehow not noticed this massive, pustulous green thing smack bang in the middle of my eyebrow, my first pimple. It's a sickening green, a type of pimple I never got afterwards - then it dawns on me. The cute introduction and asking to look at my eyebrows, the laugh, the springy walk when she left.. it was all just to get a closer look at the monster growing from my face and to laugh at me.
I never dated in high school because of it, I was so deathly afraid of being close to someone while I was a mess of acne for fear of them laughing at me behind my back.
This is about the time when I turn on Hogan's Heroes and try to drown out my thoughts as I drift off to sleep.
