Its ideology VS reality. To most people, they can closely relate to people and values in their immediate surroundings. But abroad or for truth? It means nothing for them. Russian often support (or maybe are forced to support by their peers?) Putin because of patriotism and nationalism. But a nation is only made up of a group of individuals, and if oppressing and bullying those indivduals is what it takes for nationalism, then surely it contridicts the purpose because it makes each individual less likely to acheive or be happy?
