My school principle ended up introducing the nazi germany thing to us earlier on and explained how broken the country was from the previous world war. He also said that if Hitler died before the whole gas the jews thing he probably would have been considered one of the better leaders in history.

Has anyone ever said this? I studied Dutch for a little while on Duolingo. Obviously I can't speak it for shit, but it seemed very easy, almost as easy as French, and it felt very familiar to me as an English speaker. German is harder.

I swear most people base difficulty on how difficult it sounds to pronounce and nothing else. It doesn't help that people rarely listen to anything subbed instead of dubbed around here so thru have little experience listening to what they're judging anyways. The easiest red pill I'd imagine is the great constanast shift, it instantly lets people recognize a ton of Germanic words in English.
