Yeah, the syntax is kinda reversed, it's not really anything like Germanic languages, might be a bit confusing for you at the start.
>Besides I guess people would like it if I could atleast know a few words right ?
Honestly, speaking a few words would probably mean you're better than 70% of the population, but I'd definitely like a foreigner more if they spoke a little Irish (more than the Americans who just say "dia duit" and "conas atá tú").
Best of luck with the internship, m8. Go n-eirí an bothar leat.

>Women invariably grew their hair long and, as in other European cultures, this custom was also common among the men.[45][46][47] It is said that the Gaelic Irish took great pride in their long hair—for example, a person could be forced to pay the heavy fine of two cows for shaving a man's head against his will.[22]
>When the Anglo-Normans and the English colonized Ireland, hair length came to signify one's allegiance. Irishmen who cut their hair short were deemed to be forsaking their Irish heritage. Likewise, English colonists who grew their hair long at the back were deemed to be giving in to the Irish life.[48]
>Gaelic men typically let their facial hair grow into a beard[45][46] and mustache,[47] and it was often seen as dishonourable for a Gaelic man to have no facial hair
