Eu acho que a solução mais rápida seria uma separação: os resultados benéficos seriam atingidos com maior facilidade, pois uma região menor é mais fácil de ser inspecionada (tanto e matéria de criminalidade quanto de distribuição de renda e verificação de impostos e corrupção). Em um primeiro momento separar o sul do país do resto iria ser mais útil e efetivo.
A solução mais proveitosa a longo prazo, porém, seria que o país se mantivesse unido. Levaria mais tempo e exigiria maiores esforços, mas o território seria maior, as riquezas naturais seriam muitas mais e nós próprios poderíamos nos sentir integrados a um país maior e mais diverso.

Há uns 120 anos que estamos nessa república com todos esses recursos naturais e o único momento em que o Brasil realmente teve progresso foi com Vargas. Ter recursos naturais não adianta em nada a menos que o país tenha líderes/governos fortes e decentes, o que obviamente não é o caso no Brasil atual.

O que aquele cara disse, poderiam se desenvolver ao invés de serem mercado pro sul e sudeste. É claro, nesse "poderiam" tem muita dúvida, mas seria melhor para eles tentar uma república independente, mesmo que talvez ela falhe, do que continuar tão menosprezados pelo resto do Brasil.
