>>

of how much slavs doing something relevant in the history did you hear of? Russia always something, Serbia with their uprisings started World War I and the assasination of our thronnachfolger changed Europe from monarchistic to national states, not that they did it alone, but you hear about them, Poland helped in fighting of Ottomans but that is more their own heroic story than some major european or international relevance. Other slavs I never heard of in history lessons.

1. Russia is not Slavic. They are Uralic-Altaic, result of Finno-Ugric and Turco-Mongolic tribes mixing with each other. They lated stole Slavic language from Bulgarians (who are not slavs as well and stole Slavic languages from Great Moravia)
2. With Russia excluded, the rest of "Slavs" are irrelevant as fuck, all of them.

Oh, there's plenty of Slovene historiography on the subject. I just love to point to Austrian ones since people like you can't point fingers and claim Slovenes fabricating anything.

Either way you're only deluding yourselves if they don't teach you about this in school as it's very much a part of Austrian history too, especially the history of Steiermark and Carinthia.

Belarus and Ukraine are arguably more relevant than any of the South Slavic states nowadays. Moreover, Belarus used to be a prominent member of the Commonwealth, even if not mentioned by name, and Cossacks formed semi-independent state in XVIIth century and influenced the Eastern European politics.

Relevant in what? How often is Belarus mentioned in international affairs or Ukraine? It is relevant in local affairs yeah, but international ones hardly, especially not in comparison to the South Slavic states.

They might be relevant, I don't argue this. But the OP post says something about through times.
Belarus wasn't the member of the commonwealth, it was not the subject of that relationships. It was the commonwealth's territory. There were never either Belarus or Ukraine as countries.
>>
>>56726118
Relevant in living peacefully. Atm only two "relevant" players: Serbia and Russia.

And of course in bad way.
>>
>>56726118
>How often is Belarus mentioned in international affairs or Ukraine?

>especially not in comparison to the South Slavic states.
When were South Slavic states relevant after Yugoslavian wars?

>>56726162
Twoja stara to Ukraina.
>>
>>56726192
Well, I put it that way: Historical relevance (forming an empire/strong state, influencing the European/world history) > Modern day relevance > Everything else.

Belarus and Ukraine might not have been relevant historically (although, again, they should be counted as Kievan Rus on par with Russia), but they are certainly more relevant than all the others mentioned belov them in both aspects.
>>
>>56726291
>When were South Slavic states relevant after Yugoslavian wars?
Yugoslavia was the only Eastern European state that told Stalin to fuck off, remember?

It was also the only independent Eastern European state, excluding the soviet union, during the cold war.

The entire metric of relevance is retarded as it can't be quantified. Like I said, Slovenia and Croatia are both more relevant to NATO, due to being in NATO, thus if someone invades us NATO will respond unlike with Ukraine.

Thus I can ask you relevant to what? I'd wager we're more relevant to Austria than Ukraine is, as we have more economic and political ties that are worth more money(just an example).

So in the end, what is relevance? Define it. Having famous people makes a country more relevant how? Just in general more people knowing about you equals relevancy? Population equals relevance?

Relevant in what way.

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Bulgarians, is in fact, Thracians and Bulgars, or as I've recently taken to calling it, masterrace. Slavs are not an ethnic group unto itself, but merely a linguistic group made useful by based Bulgars, a vital group thanks to which Europe exists.
Many /int/ users mistake Bulgarians for Slavs every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the Bulgar group is often called "Slavs", and many of /int/olerants are not aware that it is basically the Bulgarians, a South-eastern European masterrace.
There really are Slavs, but Bulgarians are no part of it. Wends are different, much more civilized and stuff. This is essential for you to realize. Slavs often include Bulgarians, but basically it's Slavs with Bulgars added. All the so called "South Slavs" are really Bulgarians
