They often don't though. They usually have a stronger grasp on grammar or specific rules but they still get tripped up by what should be simple shit or fail to understand what something means just because they don't have muh native language advantage. Or they have a very strong grasp in one area, like reading or writing, but sound like shit when speaking or can't follow conversations at native speed. Native speakers make all kinds of technical mistakes and it doesn't matter because you're still always understood fully by other native speakers who are also throwing in all kinds of slang or expediencies at the cost of """""""clarity"""""".
