The center is pretty polished and most of the city is fully first world tier in my opinion, you can have some run down areas and the usual commie blocks but Prague is pretty decent. The center of most bigger towns like Plzen and Brno are decent with the suburbs being more run down (like in most places in the world I guess)

The funniest part is that one of the reasons they rebelled in the first place was taxation without representation, and today in 2016 the USA is the only advanced western country I know of which has taxation without representation. It's one big joke. If you're a US citizen living in Washington DC they make you pay federal taxes while you have no voting representation in Congress.
Can you imagine being taxed and having no representation in the current year? It's just amazing. The normal excuse they give is that the US is a federation and the capital district is not a state, but all the other western federations manage to give people representation.
