>go to a bullshit community college for 2 years

>become a Pediatric nurse at a quaint pediatric clinic

>put a thermometer in a kid faking sick to avoid school

>$63,000 starting, easy, non-gross nursing opportunities that range from $80k on after a few years

So, how come you won't follow my lead?

with a few years as a 2 year degree nurse, you can go on to make around $70k-$80k+ as a 'nurse manager' or as a nurse that makes sure the hospital is functioning at a healthy environment

It's engineer salary range without melting your brain. Take the medical pill, bros

damn

yeah I looked into ICU, but I can't handle trauma shit. Stomach is too weak

I narrowed my nursing prospects to the following:

Pediatric Nurse (working in a clinic, not a children's hospital)

Nurse Manager (you can become this after a few years of nursing experience...I was told, anyway)

Occupational Health Nurse (after a few years of experience. Basically making sure everybody is working in a healthy environment

Neonatal Nursing (working with newborn babies at a hospital)

Those are basically the only types of high paying nursing jobs where I won't get grossed out or feel unneasy around dying people etc
>>

that is the only options you have mentioned that spells out comfy job, and i think you meant house supervisor instead of nursing manager, because the latter is pain in the ass even if you get to avoid bedside care.

if you want to avoid the adrenaline rush from icu/er/trauma etc you could look into becoming a research nurse or work in IT as a nurse consultant, teach etc etc plenty of options

>>
>>56545360
>if you want to avoid the adrenaline rush from icu/er/trauma etc

well that's what I'm saying you know, working in a lowly pediatric clinic gives you that $60k range job

if you're looking for the higher nursing job in the 80k range etc while still only going to school for 2 years, then with some experience you can become a nurse manager or occupational health nurse. That's what i'm trying to lay out here. IT and shit i'd imagine would require more schooling.

But literally with some experience, you can make $20k shy of $100k with a 2 year degree and some experience

it just hit me like a ton of bricks - the american dream is real in nursing. Why hasn't the public been red pilled about this yet?

Americans haven't been red pilled on nursing yet, so there's all these job opportunities for me once I get into it.

And again, with a few years of experience there's comfy positions (as if being a pediatric nurse isn't comfy enough) where you aren't exposed to anything, while potentially earning upwards of $80k and beyond.

A newborn baby nurse can make around $100k and beyond

in America, you can become a Registered Nurse (google Registered Nurse salary) with just 2 years of college

and there's all different kinds of nursing specialties. I'm looking to become a pediatric nurse, just dealing with kids that have the flu, or maybe their ear hurts and shit. Working in a pediatric clinic, it's peanuts

And yeah, I'm a straight white male which is fantastic for nursing - Reverse Affirmative Action will basically guarantee me a job, as there's not many nurses who look like me in the field, and hospitals are looking for male nurses

Also being an optometrist is a clean, comfy job with good work hours, guaranteed 120k+ a year, you're your own boss if you have your own company/clinic, and even if you don't you usually work as an associate in a group owned clinic making mad money.

I got accepted to med school too but after having shadowed doctors for a while, I really didn't want to become a doctor.
>>
>>56546150
Before, unfortunately. I think it's closer to 790k NOK. So the equivalent of 80k USD. For six years of education, one year of residency and five years of specialisation plus abysmal working hours, that's not a lot of money.

>>56546273
STEM is good for people who want to know how stuff works and want to contribute to making new and better things.

I'm studying medicine myself. First year. Not sure if it's a good idea, to be honest. I really like cars and chemistry, and it would be nice to get to work in R&D for some large car company or a pharmaceutical company, developing the technology that moves mankind forward, you know. Maybe I can get into big pharma with a medical degree, though. That would be the dream.

Alternatively I'm thinking of becoming a surgeon. It'll probably be a long time before the robots take over in that field, and I'd get to cut people.

so, my goal is to become a pediatric registered nurse, working in a pediatric clinic. Not a children's hospital or any traumatic shit like that, just a pediatric clinic.

No, a RT or X-ray tech is just a 2 year degree, though RT's have a 4 year degree, you don't need that yet. So now it's just 2 years.

There is
-LPN (low level, not even used anymore, pay 15$+ about 15 months of school)
-RN [Registered nurse] Pay is about the standard 40K a year, 2 years of school.
-BSN Bachelors in nursing (it's not really any different than RN, there just 2 years of management courses and bullshit) Pay is 45K+ a year

Then there's Masters in nursing, with that you can go teach or become a NP, a Nurse practitioner, which is a little bit below a doctor. You can work at clinics and pretty much act like a doctor for small aliments. Pay is 90K+ a year
>>
>>56547112
see:
>>56547190

and that's just working in a pediatric clinic, cuck.

In just a few years you can become a nurse manager (directing nurses) or occupational health nurse (making sure the hospital and coworkers are in a clean environment), and roll in the $80k+ a year range.

All with a 2 year degree, barely any student debt.

Enjoy crunching numbers all day though, cuck.

> in the medical field you earn more money than engineers
That is not the case in Europe where we have public health care systems. Physicians do not earn a lot of money. And it'll probably only get worse in the future. And I'm not sure a lot of people really appreciate it.

The average age for getting permanent employment as a doctor is 42 years. And Getting a residency is also not easy. Only 50% of graduates get one after finished education. So it's likely that I'll have to move somewhere else in the EU and jump through massive hoops to get a provisional license.

I speak a few languages, so it probably won't be impossible. I'll probably be able to sustain myself, but the money won't be great.
>>
>>56547980

>Yeah Paramedics here according to google get paid like shit, what the fuck?
Here in Poland it's actually the physicians running the whole "medicine" show in Poland.

They're organized in mafia-like fashion and paying more to the paramedics (and other medical personnel like nurses) means less money for them.
Nowadays physicians have 5-8 times bigger wages than the rest of the personnel.
It's a ridiculous situation, but the only people in power to change it are the people who benefit from it the most.

Wages are so low we get stuff like this

Yeah, I think Norway is probably among the best places to practice in Europe. But it's still not good. Working as a doctor is not glamorous, well-paid or easy.
And the competition from abroad is part of what makes it difficult to find a job here. Lots of Norwegians study abroad because getting into the medical program at Norwegian universities can be difficult.
>>
