we had mudshits come in, and try and make their shitty kebabs. It sort of caught on, it was "sort of" similar to what we could have thought up on our own.
Currently, the only turk making kebabs in Vilnius, is Sinanas. Who is an ok dude, learned the language (it is a pain in the ass I hear) and started his own company, because he didn't want to work as a wagecuck to some illegal mudshit.
But several things happened, because Lithuania:
1. We didn't have a large market for cooking equipment, so they had to use ordinary sandwich grills, which had heavy lids - really clamps down on anything you put on it
1. They stopped using pitas, because no one could give a shit in our country to make them in large quantities. So they had to rely on lavash almost entirely.
2. The lavash, which we made in our country, is very flat and tears easily uncooked. So the turks, had to wrap it really tightly (look at 1). So what was a dürum kebab, or kebab roll became a tightly compressed rectangle.
3. They still had kebab döner meat around, so they never stopped using it
4. After Lithuanians started making kebabs, we put PORK into it. And we simplified the ingredients (we don't like pickles and excessive vegetation in our food)
Now you might think, so what you have some shitty rectangle for a take-out? If you mean a thin lavash, which is crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Nicely cooked pork meat, quality dairy sauces (because we like our dairy), great salad and a tight wrap. Oh boy is it great.
I have been in other countries. NOTHING, and I have tried a shit ton of kebabs, and I mean NOTHING compares.
