Tariffs do not necessarily do what you're saying. Also, why are we discussing something the president has no control over?

>>
>>56462433
>Also, why are we discussing something the president has no control over?
Because Trump is talking like he has control over those things. It is the job of the president to be the leader of his party, so IF he can get congressional republicans on his side he would sort of have power over it.

Trump cannot implement any of his economic plans. All that should matter is his foreign policy, which I believe is the best of all the candidates.
Therefore I voted for him. As long as my president has good foreign policy arguments, and isn't advocating for economic socialism or more economic neoliberalism I'm okay.

Words on economics != actions. Especially with Presidents.

lmao you have to be kidding me. He's flip flopped on almost all major issues central to his campaign, an obvious con man. He will literally say anything he thinks he needs to say to get elected. He views people protesting at his rallies as a violation of his free speech, while simultaneously wanting to alter libel laws so that he can more easily sue people.

Forget all the 'racist' 'sexist' stuff, the guy has the least details pertaining to how he'll actually do what he intends, and there's no way of knowing what he intends considering he is completely full of shit.

Americans are nothing if not overly patriotic, let the whole world tell them that "this" is a shit idea for America & the world and watch half or so of them go full contrarians and do it nonetheless because Yes, they can and "USA #1".
In any case, by all laws and organization that matters in this world, no amount of angry foreigner random people have the legitimacy to dispute the sovereignty of a people on its own land.

It doesn't, because I was responding to someone who SPECIFICALLY asked for a legitimate criticism ONLY of Trump. IF I had said that out of the blue and only in response to OP, you'd have a point.

Your pure logic can be great, but if everyone thinks your being biased, maybe you need to recognize LOGIC != how the world works.

I'm not him, but I doubt most Americans even support Trump. And even among Trump supporters, /pol/ is a specific subset of his supporters that is pretty different from mainstream Trump supporters.

Holy fucking shit you're getting so dug in. Sure, you probably posted ITT before the first person I responded to, but you were not having a conversation with him. The person I responded to quoted OP his his post, so in the conversation I was in, OP was the first, the person I was responding to was second, and I was the third comment in that conversation. You were not a part of that specific conversation, what you posted doesn't matter.

I already said your logic was sound, but common sense shows you are wrong. Three separate anons thought like me.

This is pointless.

I'm half expecting him to rebrand himself very quickly as of now. He has the preselection in the bag, so he's got to make himself more appealing to the general population. But it's not. Name a politician who's never changed his stance. Is it not when other people do it? He even went on a tangent talking about his decision to change stances on torture because he researched it more and talked with modern military advisers. Why wouldn't he go after Obama after Obama called him a mistake. To do otherwise would make him look week. It's tact. People do change their minds. It's shows he has no confirmation bias if he's so willing to research some facts. Why did Obama get major support for his "hurr We're going to shut down Guantanamo" and then just completely abandon that idea? He learned firsthand the logistics. You're clearly biased here.
>>

People that want positions of power are often not normal people, they're addicts. Studies show that CEOs have psychopaths over represented in their ranks and doctors are like the least likely to be psychopaths. People who do different types of jobs have different motivations.

>>
>>56460865
>Is this the darkest timeline?
Nope. Democrats aren't perfect, but Hilary is the best candidate of all the nominees.

>Hilary 2016 already in the talks since she jumped on to Obama band wagon in 2008
>Republicans know they have no chance thus threw out some trash to get wrecked by Hilary like Trump (a headliner they picked or secret Clinton double agent), Rubio(lame manlet who isn't important), and Cruz (the guy who everyone hates anyways).

>>
>>56464899
Ron Paul and Bernie Sanders are two in recent memory that have held extremely consistent views throughout their political careers. Trump has changed multiple views in a short period of time in order to be more appealing to conservatives. Of course it's disingenuous when others do it, but he does it more than them, and then denies that he does it in the first place. I'm not the biased one, you are. That is why your only way to defend Trump is to compare him to politicians who he calls 'talkers' and 'liars', showing that he's actually very similar to them.

How did all this happen, anons? Why in 2016 are ~100 million americans voting for a populist demagogue? This has to be more than just being discontent with the economy, it has to be something deeper than that right?

I pulled the 100 million figure out of my ass since i figure trump has the support of about 30% of the population, but maybe even more millions would vote for him.

This is just a really shocking development.

I'm relieved Hillary will win, she is a continuation of Obama which I like overall, he's been a good president even though he's been unable to pursue his politics, that's not his fault. He's been a lot better than Bush that's for sure.

Ron paul changes his mind all the time m8. He's a goddamn conspiracy theorist. Being consistent in your views isn't always a good thing when new information comes to light. Trump changed some of his stances when confronted by how he might of been wrong and sought out experts. That is a good thing. You're calling him disingenuous based on a subjective opinion.

>That is why your only way to defend Trump is to compare him to politicians who he calls 'talkers' and 'liars', showing that he's actually very similar to them.

And you just compared him to Ron paul and Sanders. Comparing and contrasting candidates is the only thing we can do when deciding who to vote for unless you want to run yourself(kek). I don't need to defend trump. He's the one making the most sense. Me, like Trump don't have confirmation bias. If you can sway me with your argument and it's convincing, I won't simply tell you too fuck off because I want to be consistent with my previous beliefs.
