Pretty accurate.

>video says non religious usually means more success
>See czech republic is 90% nonreligious
>czech republic isn't successful

he said there were exceptions to that rule, like the US. i guess czech fit there too
>>
>>56379583
Czech Republic is the most successful post gommie country
>>
>>56379583
The Czech republic is still suffering from the times of communism, remember that that was only like 30 years ago. The wall in Germany fell when I was born.

Have you ever been to the Czech republic? It's a very nice country with beautiful architecture, good beer, pretty women and nice people in general.
>>
Not accurate at all.
Most of the claims are demonstrably wrong, they don't even cite their sources and they disabled comments and ratings to cover it up.
It's basically socialist propaganda made to advertise their webshop.
>>
>>56379996
>Most of the claims are demonstrably wrong
Then demonstrate that they are wrong.
>>
>>56380806
I already demonstrated why the video isn't credible in the first place. I'm not going to bother picking the whole thing apart.
An example of them being wrong is when they talk about religion. It's true that prosperous countries are less religious, but The School of Life apparently don't realize that correlation does not imply causation. Rich countries didn't stop being religious and then became wealthy. They became wealthy and then became less religious because the people got more educated. Religion does not prevent someone, or a whole country from being prosperous.
>>
I think the part about geography makes a lot of sense. With the other issues it seems like a chicken and egg problem though.
>>
>>56378898
It isn't
>>
People aren't poor because they are religious, they are religious because they are poor.
>>
>>56378898
Strength of government institutions and low religiosity are both effects of prosperity (among other things), not determiners. Western Europe didn't become irreligious and then become wealthy, it was the reverse. The welfare state is also not something countries built when they were poor and growing, it was something they built when they had already grown and became prosperous enough to afford it.

correlation =/= causation

>-m-muh zizi fly is the reason niggers couldnt build a house within 20.000 years

They act like Europe is a paradise.
It took centuries of hardship that had to be managed, while niggers were drinking cow piss out of diamond bowls and sleeping on gold-veins.

The School of Life is nice if you don't know anything about philosophy, politics or economics.

>traditionally religious
>culturally backward
>>
>>56378898
I wouldn't say it's completely wrong, but simplified and generalised. You can't just say this applies to every country, for example the religion part doesn't obviously apply for Europe, see >>56381141, but could fit to another country. What I mean by that is that they bescribed the general effects that could influence the prosperity a lot, but every country/region has its own particular factors.
Also here >>56381803 it is nicely said.

>>56379718
Pretty much.

>>56379887
Yes, communist past is still visible here, mainly in social mentality of Czechs. It'll take next few generations to fully eradicate.

Irrelevant buffer state, only hope is Milos Zeman desu, I know him personally.

He is just populist former commie who says anything to make himself more favorable to public. I don't know anyone who'd support him, actually lot of people don't like him at all.

Trying to imply not being religious is tied to being a financially successful country is absurd. You would have to have literately no historical knowledge to not see how that's wrong almost immediately.
>>
>>56381141
Europe became rich and educated after renaissance.
>>
>>56378898
Basically Europe should colonize Africa again to create a proper ruling body for them.
>>
This.
Europe needs to colonize and industrialize it. Giving people jobs would discourage them from joining some rebel military organizations and give them money. And maybe after a while religion would lose its importance.
>>
>>56381141
Exactly my thoughts when I watched it. The whole video is simplified, but the religion part is on childish angry atheists level
>>
>>56381803
>implying strong property rights and their origins in medieval England, even it they were mainly to benefit lords and the nobility initially, weren't significant factors in the industrial revolution.
Do you even institutional economics?
>>
>>56378898
False, you can only be rich at the expense of somebody else.
>>
>>56399351
Are you memeing or do you non-ironically believe economics is a zero-sum game?
>>
>>56399415
Nah, unless you're superhuman or have a army of robot workers, you can only get rich by fleecing others.

The channel is cringy as fuck, nothing is sourced and their "science" is social and subjective
The simple "correlation does not mean causation" proves the whole video wrong

>Why Some Countries Are Poor and Others Rich
Why most countries are poor and some are rich
>>
>>56378898
I think it skipped the most important factor: whether a country has been politically succesfull or not, meaning the country either exploited others or has been exploited. Of course, this is not the only factor (Finland is a great example), but it is the most important one.
>>

t. absolutely no understanding of economics or the free market

Slavic socialism, not even once

The idea that wealth is finite and mercantilism is zero-sum unless you use usury is from the medieval church. The Enlightenment demonstrated that two traders can come together, and both walk away with relatively more than what they started with. This revolutionary idea that has been common knowledge in western society since the 1500s was evidently lost to communism, so we understand that it is still taking you guys longer to re-learn 500 years of empirical teachings
