We have straight-up incompetence in the highest ranks of our government, people who literally haven't finished high school run the country. Government is trying to deliver on socialist policies which our economy simply isn't strong enough for while the officials pocket a little or a lot extra from various sources all the way from the top to the bottom. And the uneducated among the black population (read: literally the majority) still blames the whites for everything.
It's a shitshow and getting worse. Analysts predict a win by the firmly anti-corruption pro-meritocratic DA party (for whom the vast majority of whites vote) over the ANC within about 2050, but it remains a strong possibility that the country will be unsalvageable by then.

Honestly, the hash they made of affirmative action is more of a problem for the country as a whole than it is for any whites. The standards aren't much higher than they ever were in terms of university and such. The problem is that in many university courses, two thirds of the class doesn't complete it, having got in on a much lower mark than is actually indicative of the level of competence required to complete the course. A shitshow, really.
