When I went to the US the only people who really were aware of their heritage were the Irish-Americans. And that was because they were wearing those cringy 'Kiss me, I'm Irish' t-shirts or another one of those pieces of shit. It's like they need the whole world that they are 1/32 Irish. And surprisingly enough, the people who had a significant ammount of Irish heritage (1/2, 1/4) were the most chill and didn't say they were Irish unless they were asked. It's like the less Irish heritage you have, the more you need to brag about it.
