Why are italians so emotional? I went to an Italian restaurant in Europe once, I was hung over and sick so I didn't finish my meal. That's also a Slavic language thing, the schwa. Some Slavic languages have given it up, for example Polish and Serbo-Croatian, but others, such as Czech and Slovene, uh just as much as the English.

Vowel reduction is a thing here too. For example female noun endings that are often -a in Swedish, Icelandic and many other IE languages, have been reduced to schwa here. Also happened to many unstressed syllables
