"Conservative" is as much a suitable label for political opinions as "Progressive". They're words that don't mean anything with regards to political philosophy and are completely up to interpretation. Within a given context "conservative" might make sense, but calling yourself "conservative as opposed to socialist" is retarded.

In America, Socialist means something different from elsewhere, does that make it unsuitable for a political label? What about Nationalism or Liberalism, as they are different from the rest of the world's perspective of them.
