It's not hard to visit a lot of countries when you live in Europe. Most of those were done on three separate road trips. Planning to get out of Europe later this year, and visit USA next year.

Nah. Are you imagining my grandpa to be 50 years old and protecting me from the Polish mob?
There's just not much other reason despite muh heritage/birthplace to visit. Although admittedly I was thinking about going to OFF Festival in Katowice last year.

China should be a great experience, especially seeing as this will be your first time in Asia. If you care make a thread after the fact sometime; I'm always keen to hear more about it from a Westerner's perspective.

Most of those on the bottom list I'd also like to see, except Mongolia (fascinating, but I don't think they like you there) and Estonia (I don't see the point).

I was planning on doing that

I'm actually going as part of a study tour and we will be spending most days studying Chinese.

On the other hand, we get a load of free time in the evening and we're also doing some of the touristy things like the Great Wall and the Forbidden City as well as doing a two day Chinese Cooking course, so I'm sure I'll have something to post about.

I don't know any spots here because I haven't been here for long yet.

As for NZ, Christchurch has glaciers and a generally pleasant rural landscape. Also has bungie jumping and Hobbiton. Up in the North Island, Rotorua is a cool place that literally always smells of sulphur everywhere from all the hot springs and geysers. Some of the outdoor hot spring creeks in the woods are quite nice. The Coromandel Range is a bunch of woodlands if you're into forest tramping and camping. Pretty much anywhere in NZ is good for kayaking and white water rafting as well.

Didn't get to do much travelling in Australia, unfortunately. The Great Ocean Road is probably the most popular tourist itinerary, though I haven't made the complete trip myself. The Great Barrier Reef is fantastic as well. There are a bunch of national reserves scattered around that I've only seen footage of from documentaries. Overall I think it's a pretty different experience from NZ though, so I'd say it's worth a trip sometime as well.
